As to accentuate the water city’s unique landscape and culinary legacy, Substance was deeply galvanized by ‘The Servant of Two Masters’ - a 1743 comedy by one of the most celebrated playwrights, Venetian Carlo Goldoni. The branding is based around four characters: Truffaldino, Smeraldina, Beatrice and Florindo, reinterpreted from the play. Striking a flawless balance between tradition and innovation, quintessential Venetian traditions are noticeably expressed though artisanal work of selected craftsmen with a contemporary twist.
